Coming June 2017: Honey Pot Maple Farm

That's right...the new vendors for 2017 keep rolling in! We are sure to bring you a little bit of everything this season with a few twists up our sleeve!

Honey Pot Farm is the newest addition to our growing family of vendors. This small family run farm out of Wilmington, MA will be sure to satisfy not only your local honey needs but will also bring you farm fresh eggs and unfiltered natural maple syrup straight from acres of their own maple trees. They have a second farm location in Plaistow, NH that provides the same quality products to the residents there.

Rob and Melissa are not only successfully raising three young children but they passionately run their farm with the mission to bring you their products the way "nature intended" ; unfiltered, chemical free, and all natural. Their farm is home to hundreds of beautiful Maple trees, countless buzzing bee's, and happy egg producing chickens. If you ask us, whether you're a child or a chicken this is the way to grow up!

They treat their chickens, trees, and hives with the utmost care as they all work together to make the farm go round. Never using harsh chemicals or harmful fertilizers in growing their maple trees, they make way for their bees to take advantage of an early nectar flow each season. This is a beautiful partnership that creates the dark sweet honey we all love while at the same time fresh maple syrup for your pancakes. They say you may find an occasional bee wing or bit of honey comb in your jar, but that just shows how true they are to their word to provide you with the least processed and tainted product possible.

If we could change the phrase to "happy as a chicken" that would best describe this family's coop. These chickens are never fed growth hormones or exposed to harmful pesticides on the farm. Most eggs go straight from the nest to the carton. If need be they are hand washed with gentle soap, warm water and love. You can confidently buy these eggs knowing these chickens live the best life possible.

Come support a family run business this spring at the Farmer's Market at Kendall Square. They also specialize in small honey pot party favors for your baby shower, bridal shower, or small event!

Coming June 2017: Zing Bowls!

Zing Bowls are back! We are lucky to welcome this power couples Brazilian Super Food to the market again this spring! They will be treating our taste buds and our bodies to the benefits of acai and quinoa bowls, frozen acai puree's, and their signature Brazilian cheese rolls!

Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Alex Pereira and his wife are no strangers to beautiful rain forests, music, art, and of course unique foods. They successfully got their business up and running in August of last year and actually made their very first direct sale to you, the valued customers of Kendall Square.

They bring us their culture through meal bowls filled with organic, natural fruits and vegetables,  straight from Brazil, Peru, and local farms. The foundation of all their bowls is vitamin and protein filled super foods; quinoa and acai berries. From there they build delicious healthy all natural bowls that will provide you with nutrients and energy your body will thrive on. They are passionate about life being full of happiness fueled by good food.

These ambassadors for health also have big goals in the works!! Not only will they be selling their bowls, acai puree's, and Brazilian cheese rolls at farmers markets, online, and through home deliver, they plan to open their first brick and mortar in June of 2017. We are so excited to support and watch this company grow with us through the market and beyond!

Make sure to stop in and check them out this spring at the Farmer's Market at Kendall Square and on their website 2017!  Click Here for Zing Bowls

A Look Back At The 2016 Farmers' Market Season

As we're getting ready for the start of our 2017 Farmers Market season, we're feeling a bit nostalgic about last summer's market. So, we want to share our favorite moments and vendors that were there every Thursday to connect with the Kendall Square, Cambridge MA community!

In 2016 we introduced new vendors....

We shopped straight from the farms ...

We got to taste the sweetest local treats...

We got involved with community organizations...

We got artsy...

& we ate some insanely delicious lunch!!!

Look out for the Farmers' Market at Kendall Square THURSDAYS 11-2pm starting June 1, 2017!

If you haven't had a bite (or two) of Michelle Wax's two-bite Kitchen Millie cookies yet- you have to stop by the Farmers' Market at Kendall Square this Thursday between 11 & 2! The Arlington-based baker/entrepreneur packages her cookies just an hour or so before arriving on site at the market! Not only are Michelle's cookies as fresh as can possibly be, they're also light on your stomach. Guilt-free cookies? Genius.

"We use local, farm fresh ingredients. No preservatives, never processed. Handmade and freshly baked locally. We bake and deliver on the same day, for ultimate freshness."-Kitchen Millie

What's even more buzz-worthy is Michelle's collaborative effort with Nutty Life and Boston Bonbon to create and open The Local Fare, a storefront in Arlington, selling local food, crafts and goodies! Emphasis on 'local'. Just read about their mission in the Boston Globe!

We're excited to welcome Labels That Matter back to the Farmers' Market at Kendall Square  Thursday 9/22. A project that was developed inside the Sandbox Innovation Fund at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Labels The Matter strives to preserve local culture and the social development of communities worldwide with sustainable fashion, created by artisans from South America and around the world.

With many of Labels That Matter's pieces handmade with recycled materials, the sale of their jewelry reduces trash in landfills! The necklace below was created from the left-over materials used to create musical instruments!
